"21, huh? That's how old my sister was before she turned 22..."

She might mumble a lot, but when she speaks up, Susan comes up with some wonderful quotes.

For example, Molly was informing me of my Oregon Trail status. The conversation went something like this:

Molly: 'Nancy! We just rested! You have a fever!'
Me: 'Again? You know, it's a good thing fevers aren't as detrimental now as they were then.'
Susan: 'What are you talking about? I got attacked by a beaver last week and man, I almost died!'

The dishwasher incident. Part 1. (This part is better than Part 2, unless you like looking at Susan's butt for long periods of time.)

A warning to fellow Oakland dwellers. The condition of our sidewalks is unsafe. They are costing the residents of our fair neighborhood pain and distress, and by "residents of our fair neighborhood," I mean me. Allow me to share a story..nay, a tale of woe.
This evening, while returning home from a team meeting, the housemates and I happened across an abandoned office chair. It was a most exciting find, being leather, on wheels and in fairly good condition. As half of our furniture already consists of sidewalk finds, we thought it only fitting to add this chair to the collection. After testing out the chair we commenced in bringing it home. I ended up being the one pushing the chair at one point, about the time that Molly decided to start running. I love running, especially after Molly, and I took off in hot pursuit, chair and all. This is when all went awry. The chair hit a bump and fell over and before I had a chance to react I ran into the bottom of the chair, flew over it and collided with the asphalt not so lovingly awaiting me on the other side. The housemates thought this most amusing. I found it somewhat painful. Point of the story, the sidewalks are a safety hazard. I personally would not feel safe raising a child in a city where he or she could not sprint down the sidewalk pushing an office chair. I think I may write a congressman, and I urge all to do the same. Heed this warning. My shin hurts right now, and if it weren't for the goddamn sidewalk, it wouldn't. Think about it. That is all.

My Weekend:
So, this weekend I attended the district VI cross country meet. Although the course was slick and conditions were less than desirable, Carly Seymour still was able to post an honorable time missing her own course record set last year by only eight seconds. This is what she had to say about the conditions:

“Conditions were absolutely terrible,” the junior said after running the course at Indian Valley Middle School in 18:12. “It was muddy and you had no foot control. It was like ice skating and the wind was really forceful. It was a challenge, but we all fought through it...Last year, the day was beautiful, there was no wind and it was warm out...Today was a total flip of that. It shows that when you go into races, you have to be prepared for everything. You can’t always have a perfect day to go out and run your perfect race. At least it didn’t snow.”

This weekend I will be attending the PIAA State Meet where I will watch Carly Seymour attempt to repeat her state championship title and Central Cambria attempt to make a showing hopefully in the top three.

Also exciting was the fact that my actual friend and someone I actually know and speak to made it to states with a strong eigth place finish.

More to come after the State meet.

My weekend - Part IV: (a brief essay)

Another highlight of M- was seeing Tad. Seriously.

Moving on, Sunday morning I stop at home to brush my teeth on the way to Eat 'n Park and find eight people in my living room. That means that of the three people who actualy lived there, everyone brought home at least one if not two people home with them.

After b-fast, I head to Bridget's where we clean, fall asleep, and watch "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe." It's an alright movie.

I go out food shopping the next day and bought stuff to make cookies.

Monday I cleaned my room and baked cookies. So ends my weekend. Sweet. Thank's for listening.

My weekend - Part III: (a brief essay)

Driving back, it was rain, sleet-y stuff, and hail. Sweet.

As we drove through E-, we stop for gas, food, and to see Ben the Babe. We are sucessful in every endeavor.

We get back to P- and I put my clothes in the wash and we all start getting ready for le party at M-. Before we go, we take shots. I take Pat's as well because he can be a wuss sometimes, despite his rugged badass appearance.

But then Bridget calls me. Her Halloween party was Saturday not Friday night! Oh snap! Well, I can't drive (obiviously) so I decide to go to M- and sober up there then get to Bridget's.

Highlights of M- include Hott Jonathan and talking to TallE.

Go to Bridgets. Highlights of Bridget's include V-Card and Drew's no-pants-dance and dancing with Drew. Pass out on the couch. Wake up on the couch. Drew comes in. Talk to Drew. Knife with Drew on the couch.

My weekend - Part II: (a brief essay)

I pick up Kayla and Jessica and have a very nice trip up to Rochacha on Friday. I stay up until 1AM completing my mullet hat which is a semi sucessful endeavor. I'll try to get a pict of it to post.

Saturday morning, the tourney is cancelled, but teams are allowed to scrimmage on the surrounding public park fields. We play two games. It's cold and wet and windy and I think I lost a toe to frostbite.

We drive back to Audra's house and it's decided that we should go home because there is supposed to be a snow storm the next day. Well, I was supposed to see Chad (a friend from JP who goes to SUNY Albany now) and Saturday night's party, so I endeavor to get someone on Albany's phone number. Finally I find out that one of the guys I played with at AU also goes to grad school at Albany now and get his digits.

I call him. They're on RIT's campus showering. Excellent. I stop by for fifteen minutes. Everyone is looking so good. Later, I decide that I need to take a weekend trip up North to see them all with more time.

I leave Rochacha with Kayla, Jessica, Virb-hole, and Susan in my car.

My weekend - Part I: (a brief essay)

On Thursday morning I awoke bright and early to register for classes as a senior. I got on line, and Bridget was only three people ahead of me! Then, Mary and her roomie came in and were a few people behind me! After waiting in line for an hour, I got to the scheduling lady only to be told that the accounts department had a hold on my account. Suffice to say, shit went down and I still haven't registered.

So then I went to PNC to deposit some checks so I could get some medicine for sundry ailments. I deposited the money, then they told me that I had overdrawn a month ago and that they had been charging me fees since then. The money I had just deposited would go to cover those charges, but I still owed them money. Seriously.

So whateva', whateva'. I go to the library with Renee's book so that I could get some studying done for my Environmental Geology make up test. I sit down in a quiet spot and get to it and wouldn't you know, the place reeks like Cale. I don't know, maybe they wash the floor with his body wash or something.

That was pretty unsucessfull. I take the test then come back to the house to pack for Danse Macabre.
