livin' the life...livin' the dream

My Weekend:
So, this weekend I attended the district VI cross country meet. Although the course was slick and conditions were less than desirable, Carly Seymour still was able to post an honorable time missing her own course record set last year by only eight seconds. This is what she had to say about the conditions:

“Conditions were absolutely terrible,” the junior said after running the course at Indian Valley Middle School in 18:12. “It was muddy and you had no foot control. It was like ice skating and the wind was really forceful. It was a challenge, but we all fought through it...Last year, the day was beautiful, there was no wind and it was warm out...Today was a total flip of that. It shows that when you go into races, you have to be prepared for everything. You can’t always have a perfect day to go out and run your perfect race. At least it didn’t snow.”

This weekend I will be attending the PIAA State Meet where I will watch Carly Seymour attempt to repeat her state championship title and Central Cambria attempt to make a showing hopefully in the top three.

Also exciting was the fact that my actual friend and someone I actually know and speak to made it to states with a strong eigth place finish.

More to come after the State meet.
